Sodium acetate white powder, hygroscopic. Easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, ether. Chinese alias: sodium acetate anhydrous; anhydrous sodium acetate; sodium acetate anhydrous; anhydrous sodium acetate; anhydrous sodium acetate. Sodium acetate generally exists in the form of sodium acetate trihydrate with three crystalline waters. Sodium acetate trihydrate is colorless transparent or white granular crystals, which can be weathered in air and is combustible. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. 123 ℃ when the water of crystallization is lost. But usually the wet method of production has the taste of acetic acid, hydrolysis occurs in water.

In the food industry, sodium acetate is used as a preservative and pickling agent. Since the salt helps the food maintain a specific pH level, it stops the growth of harmful bacteria. The chemical is used in large quantities during the pickling process, not only to act as a buffer between the food and microorganisms, but also to improve the flavor of the food.

As a cleaning agent, sodium acetate neutralizes the large amounts of sulfuric acid emitted from factories. It maintains shiny metal surfaces by eliminating rust and stains. It can also be found in leather tanning solutions and image processing fluids.

Product Application:

1、Determination of lead, zinc, aluminum, iron, cobalt, antimony, nickel and tin. Complexation stabilizers. Adjuvant for acetylation, buffer, desiccant, mordant.

2、It is used as esterification agent of organic synthesis, as well as photographic drugs, medicine, printing and dyeing mordant, buffer, chemical reagent, meat preservation, pigment, tanning and many other aspects.

3、Used as buffering agent, flavoring agent, aroma enhancer and ph value regulator. As a buffering agent for flavoring agent, it can moderate the bad smell and prevent discoloration to improve the flavor when using 0.1%~0.3%. It has certain anti-mold effect, such as the use of 0.1% ~ 0.3% in minced fish products and bread. It can also be used as acidifier for sauce, sauerkraut, mayonnaise, fish cake, sausage, bread and so on. Mixed with methyl cellulose, phosphate, etc., it is used to improve the preservation of sausage and bread.

Main Uses of Sodium Acetate Solution:

To treat municipal wastewater, the effects of sludge age (SRT) and additional carbon source (sodium acetate solution) on the nitrogen and phosphorus removal effect of the system were investigated. Sodium acetate was used as the supplementary carbon source to domesticate denitrifying sludge, after which the pH rise during denitrification was controlled within 0.5 using buffer solution. The denitrifying bacteria can adsorb CH3COONa in excess, so the COD value of the effluent can also be maintained at a low level when denitrification is carried out with CH3COONa as an additional carbon source. Currently, all cities and counties need to add sodium acetate as a carbon source if they want to meet the primary discharge standard.

 

Main Uses of Sodium Acetate Solid:

It is widely used in printing and dyeing, pharmaceuticals, chemical preparations, industrial catalysts, auxiliaries, additives and anticorrosive freshness preservatives, and is also widely used in wastewater treatment, coal chemical industry and preparation of energy storage materials.

 

Storage and Transportation Conditions:

Packed in plastic bag with inner lining and woven bag or burlap bag. Sodium acetate is deliquescent, so it should be protected from moisture during storage and transportation.
